Snoring can be caused by number of the factors it usually happens when air can’t flow easily through the mouth or nose. When the air is forced through an obstructed area, soft tissues in the mouth, nose and throat bump into each other and vibrate. The vibrations make a rattling, snorting or grumbling sound. Snoring is caused by things such as your tongue, mouth, throat or airways in your nose vibrating as you breathe. It happens because these parts of your body relax and narrow when you're asleep. It’s not normal, and snoring often points to a bigger problem. If you snore every night it's a sign that the air isn't moving freely through your nose and throat, and you're experiencing some amount of obstruction in your breathing pathways.
